Pup Milestone

Privacy Policy

For the Pup Milestone iOS app, published by Louis Cook.

Effective 10 October 2026

Pup Milestone is built so your puppy's data stays yours. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, how it is used, where it lives, and what happens to your puppy's photo.

1What data we collect

Only what you choose to enter, to make the app work. Nothing is collected in the background, and there is no sign-in or account of any kind.

WhatExamples
Puppy profileName, breed, date of birth, an optional photo
Care recordsCrate time, walk (exercise) times, weight entries, flea and worming treatment dates and history, behaviour log entries
Subscription statusWhether Premium is active. Apple handles the payment itself - we never see your card details

2Why we collect it

Each piece of data exists to power one specific part of the app:

3How we use it

Your care records are compared against typical breed and age baselines to calculate the red, amber and green dashboard scores (if you have left that scoring turned on), plotted into the crate time, exercise and weight charts, and - for Premium - summarised into weekly and monthly written insights. Treatment dates you enter are used to work out when the next flea and worming treatments are due, and to schedule the reminders you asked for.

That is the whole list. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share it with third parties - there is no one for it to go to, since we do not run our own servers (see below).

4Where your data is stored

On your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synced through your own private CloudKit database - a storage space tied to your Apple ID that only you can open. This happens automatically through your device's existing iCloud account; there is nothing to sign in to inside the app. If iCloud is not available on your device, the app tells you on the Account screen, since that means your data is only stored locally.

No Pup Milestone servers exist. There is nowhere for the developer to see, search or export your data from - it never leaves Apple's infrastructure or your own devices.

5Your puppy's photo

Adding a photo is optional. If you add one:

6Notifications

All notifications are scheduled locally on your device, based on dates you enter - nothing is sent from a server. They are:

Turn them off anytime in iOS Settings → Notifications → Pup Milestone.

7Third-party services

Pup Milestone relies on two Apple services to function, each governed by Apple's own privacy policy:

8Your rights

Because your data is stored on your own device and in your own iCloud - not held by us - you control it directly:

9Retention and deletion

Your data stays until you remove it. In the app, Account → Delete All My Data permanently deletes your puppy - including the photo - and every record attached to it, both on your device and from iCloud. Deleting the app has the same effect on the device.

10Children's privacy

Pup Milestone is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
